The spooky season has officially landed in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) with the arrival of the 2025 Halloween event. Whether you're a veteran adventurer or a brand-new player, this year's event is free for everyone - both free-to-play and members alike. In true OSRS fashion, it's a short, lighthearted quest filled with tricks, treats, and a few laughs along the way. Starting the Event

To begin, head north of Lumbridge, just past the castle, where you'll find Farmer Fred by his chicken coop. If you're a member, bringing an Amulet of Glory helps - it saves about two minutes of running total - but it's not required.

Talk to Farmer Fred and select the "Yes" option to begin the Halloween event. Hold down your space bar to skip through his dialogue quickly. When you're done, he'll send you east across the bridge toward another chicken coop.

Meeting Seth Gros

Once across the bridge, enter the small house beside the coop and speak with Seth Gros. Choose "Yes" to continue and hold space again to move through his dialogue. Seth will give you a spooky picture - your first key item.

From here, head west, back past Farmer Fred, and continue onward to Draynor Manor.

The Haunted Furniture

Enter through the large front doors of Draynor Manor, where you'll spot a bunch of level 1 Spooky Chairs moving around. Click on any of them to pick one up - it'll be added to your inventory.

Next, make your way to the west side of the manor, opening any doors in your path. When you reach the west room, exit north through the manor's back door to leave the building.

From here, we're heading southwest along the farming path. Continue until you find a stile (a small fence crossing) that leads into a cow pen. Click the stile to hop in, then open the southern gate to reach Sarah, a nearby farmer.

Entertaining the Cows

Talk to Sarah about the Halloween event, holding space to skip dialogue. She'll ask you to entertain her cows.

Head back into the middle of the cow pen and perform the Dance emote (found in your emotes tab). After a few seconds, the cows will "enjoy" your dance. Go back and talk to Sarah again - she'll reward you with a Spooky Scarecrow.

Visiting Death

Now it's time to meet an old friend. Teleport to Lumbridge (home teleport works fine) and walk southeast toward the graveyard behind the church. In the bottom corner, you'll find a hole - click it to enter Death's Domain.

Inside, talk to Death and select "Yes" to continue the Halloween event. He'll quiz you with a few Halloween trivia questions. Here are the answers in order:

3.A Coven - Option 2

4.Dark Wizards - Option 3

5.Trick or Treat - Option 1

Hold the space bar to speed through the dialogue. Once finished, Death will confirm that you've collected all the required spooky items. Use the portal behind you to leave Death's Domain.

Back to Farmer Fred

Run back north to Farmer Fred and speak with him again about the Halloween event. He'll ask for a Spooky Pumpkin Lantern.

To get it, you'll need to visit Diango in Draynor Village Market. If you have your Amulet of Glory, teleport to Draynor Village. Otherwise, run there manually from Lumbridge.

Getting the Spooky Pumpkin Lantern

Speak to Diango and choose the Halloween event dialogue. He'll tell you that you must wear three spooky clothing items. You can pick from any previous Halloween event outfits available in his store.

For example, you can choose the Grim Reaper Hood, Skeleton Shirt, and Skeleton Leggings. Once you've equipped three spooky pieces, talk to Diango again and he'll give you the Spooky Pumpkin Lantern.

Completing the Event

Head back to Farmer Fred one final time. Make sure you are:

· Wearing your three spooky clothing items

· Holding or equipping the Spooky Pumpkin Lantern

Talk to Fred again and hold space through the dialogue. A short cutscene will play, marking the end of the event.

Rewards

Congratulations - you've completed the 2025 Halloween Event!

You'll receive:

· Spooky Pumpkin Lantern

· Spooky Chair

· Grim Reaper Top, Bottoms, and Gloves

· Two Pumpkins

· Two of each Halloween Mask

The Spooky Chair has a right-click "Spin" emote, and if you drop it, it'll follow you around like a pet for about ten seconds before returning to your inventory. It's a fun little novelty, even if it doesn't last long!

Pair your Grim Reaper Hood with the matching top and bottom to complete this year's sinister look - perfect for showing off your Halloween spirit in Gielinor.
